Hermes is a worldwide courier and logistics company founded in Hamberg, Germany in 1972. It was originally called Hermes-Paket-Schnelldienst by the German mail-order company called Otto Versand and the Werner Velbinger Organization after 5 meticulous years of planning. The main reason the company started was to create a postal service that would send the orders made through the Otto mail order catalogue business that would be completely separate from Swiss Post. The reasoning behind the partnership between the Otto group and the Werner Velbinger Organization was because Werner already had a postal delivery service which then merged with Hermes which enabled the company to grow rapidly. Hermes now represents market-leading logistics and trade services and has strong affiliations with a forever expanding number of logistics providers in the eCommerce sector.
Hermes is world-renowned for its shipping services, which has made the brand into a household name. The companies sheer size means that it is one of the heavyweights in the logistics world with its nearest rivals being TNT, DPD and DHL. Hermes now has been shipping packages for over 40 years and employs more than 16,000 staff. After it was founded in Germany the company expanded to France in 1997, the United Kingdom in 2000, Austria in 2007, Italy in 2009 and Russia in 2010. Now in Germany Hermes Logistik Gruppe (HLG) is the country's largest independent postal provider to the private sector. In terms of marketing, the Hermes logo has been a bird's wing since 2010, it is three shaded blue bars that are said to represent speed and quickness. Hermes has also been massively successful in lowering delivery costs for themselves and customers by using couriers on a self-employed basis on a grand scale, by doing this they can cut their quotation prices down by a lot more than other competitors that have to maintain fleets of delivery vehicles and have thousands of delivery staff on the payroll. Hermes deliver over 240 million parcels just for a handful of the UK's leading retail and supermarket giants including ASOS, Tesco, John Lewis and Debenhams and turns over an incredible 2.4 billion euros a year.
The Ship24 worldwide tracking API will enable any business that is integrated to track all parcels that are registered with Hermes. Hermes post is a domestic and international postal service. Their services include logistical operations and they are a globally recognized postal delivery service. Hermes have a very good customer service department you can contact them via the phone number on 0300 808 5456, or the most popular way is via online chat. With so many people in the world now completely tech-savvy the main way to contact Hermes would be via the online chat function where you will find multiple options to choose from. They have four very clear options to handle your query initially which are "Receiving a parcel", "Sending a parcel", "Returning a parcel" and "Its something else" after you select one of these options you will be taken to the next section which will have more in-depth questions to determine which way to guide you. If your query needs to be dealt with via telephone they will state "Please call" and if not, then your issue should be easily resolvable via the online option. You can also access information regarding the necessary package preparation for your parcel or package you wish to send along with providing shipping rates dependent on the origin the size, dimensions and weight of your shipment. These rates will of course depend on the sizes and weight is correct, and if you are unsure of any shipping costs or you have an item of abnormal size then we advise contacting Hermes, to avoid any unwanted costs. Once you have the correct information the seller or shop can take their parcel to a Hermes drop off shop where once the shipping fee has been paid the sender will be given a tracking number which you can then use to track the package from that point onwards. The sender should then pass the tracking code onto you so you can keep an eye on the whereabouts of your shipment. However, if your Hermes package was purchased online then you should receive your shipment tracking number directly when you purchased the item, either when logged into your marketplace or whatever platform you bought the item through, or via the purchase confirmation email which should have been forwarded to the email address you used to sign up with. Once you have the tracking number ID, you can begin tracking your Japan post parcel using either the Hermes website or the most advisable method would be to use the universal Ship24 tracking system, here you can track multiple items all through one website meaning no stress of trying to chase your parcel if it's handled through multiple different couriers, for example, if sending overseas it may change hands 3 or 4 times before it was to get to you, meaning if you were to just to track on the Hermes website from Germany and your package had a destination address of West Africa this would mean it will for sure change courier companies along the way, something the Hermes online tracker may not be able to follow for example Niger Poste takes over the shipping. Whereas Ship24 will be able to track every step of the way as have access to over 1000 couriers in our network along with thousands of shops, meaning you should let us take the stress off you and you can focus on your business and we can keep you updated with real-time tracking information on where your all-important package or parcels are. We cannot stress enough the ease of our system and you can track up to 10 different tracking numbers from multiple couriers from multiple marketplaces, from Amazon to Ebay to Alibaba we have you covered with our Hermes package tracking API.
